The Program

Georgine’s experience at IE Business School was, in a word, transformational. Looking back on the program, she notes that, “With every case study, I started to think of the company we were studying in a different way. I also noticed how the same processes can be applied in different industries, such as reducing idle times or eliminating bottlenecks in a production process.”

The disruptive and transformational focus of the International MBA encouraged Georgine to enhance her leadership skills as she immersed herself in cutting-edge management modules. Describing her leadership style, she reflects that, “I have always treated my direct reports as if they were my clients, giving them my time and attention. I think that it is important to treat those who report to you as if they were one of your most important stakeholders.”

The Future

The broad curriculum of the International MBA facilitated her transition back to the workplace after completing the program. Reporting directly to the CEO, “I was involved in a lot of projects from different areas, such as operations, strategy, finance, sales, communications, partnerships and investor relations. Looking back, I don’t think that I would have been able to manage all of it to the same quality I did without my education from IE Business School.”

Georgine now works for the world’s first digital asset bank, Sygnum Bank, where she works as head of business-to-business technology sales. As an expert in B2B technology, Georgine believes it’s vital to fully understand the products she sells in order to seamlessly identify clients’ needs and speed up sales processes.

Reflecting on her career and professional successes, Georgine notes that ambitious professionals should never give up on themselves. She notes that, “I think in the workplace, and in life in general, apart from hard work and dedication, there is this factor of luck. Sometimes you are lucky and meet people who really trust and believe in you and help you grow, and other times you have to be the person who encourages yourself to be better every day.”

Georgine decided to take the Business & Management path and it’s led her on an exciting journey full of success. To discover more potential professional destinations, read our student stories from other program areas.
