From its inception to this day we are still entrepreneurs at IE and 25% of our alumni have started their own company, which is an achievement we are particularly proud of. We provide more than 1500 students each year with entrepreneurial training and as of 2020 IE was rated world first in the entrepreneurship category by Bloomberg BusinessWeek Whether you are an MBA, a visual design student, or pursue a degree in Law, we believe that innovation and entrepreneurship are a vital part of IE education.
Through the Entrepreneurship Centre at IE, we champion new ways of thinking and strive to foster a mindset of entrepreneurship, so our students can pursue valuable careers that make a difference in society. Many of our students are eager to launch their own business or undertake new projects during their time with us. Each of our degree programs has a strong focus on cultivating Sharp entrepreneurial skills. In addition, our students often set their ideas into practice in the IE Venture Lab or apply to the IE Venture Days. The programs are all created so they can be balanced with the core module of your program and through some programs, you will also be able to earn academic credits.
IE Venture Days are international tech conferences arranged both face-to-face and in a virtual format. The Venture days are open to both current students, Alumni and external entrepreneurs. We place the whole entrepreneurial ecosystem in one room to create magic!
IE's Venture Lab trains and mentors’ aspiring entrepreneurs to validate, design and prepare their startup projects for launch. Here you will have a full incubation program that takes you from the idea stage to your MVP.
If you are uncertain on embarking on your entrepreneurial journey, this is your opportunity to verify what world you will be entering. Every Thursday at Area 31, you have the chance to engage with investors, entrepreneurs and fellow students. Come join us for pitching and networking and discover Area 31, our own entrepreneurial hub.
The educational sector does not only need startups, and if we truly are going to reinvent how education is conducted, we need the rest of the sector to move in symbiosis with the technological development. The enlightED event is a yearly conference created by IE, Telefonica Foundation, South Summit and Fundacion Santillana. Together we are putting the spotlight on the whole education sector, something that has become even more relevant after 2020 than previously.
Technology has influenced nearly every sector in the 21st century, and as an educational institution, we have learned first-hand how to use technology to make better learning experiences. We also acknowledge that using technology to innovate learning and provide education will be a core feature going forward. That is why we have made IE Rockets. Part incubator, part investment vehicle. If you have a startup disrupting the educational sector we would love to help and take part!
