IE University joins forces with Fudan University, a key partner in Asia, to strengthen research, global mobility, and joint academic programs

The agreement includes student exchanges, dual degree and visiting student programs, summer schools, immersion programs, and academic events.

IE School of Politics, Economics, and Global Affairs has formalized a strategic alliance with School of International Relations and Public Affairs and Institute of International Studies at Fudan University, reinforcing both institutions’ commitment to academic excellence, global engagement, and research collaboration.

The agreement was signed in Shanghai during a visit to China by Enrico Letta, Dean of IE School of Politics, Economics, and Global Affairs. Fudan University was represented by Wu Xinbo, Dean of the Institute of International Studies.

Through this partnership, both universities will collaborate across academic program development, student exchange initiatives, policy debate or research or teaching. The agreement lays the foundation for a broad range of joint activities, including student exchanges, dual degree and visiting student programs, articulation and progression agreements, immersion programs, summer schools, academic events, joint collaborations and research activities.

An example of this strategic alliance was the recent organization of the panel "The Reconfiguration of China-US-Europe Relations and Its Impact" at the Sanghai Forum 2026, which was co-organized by IE School of Politics, Economics, and Global Affairs, the Global Policy Center at IE University and Fudan University.

Enrico Letta emphasized that this collaboration marks the outset of a promising partnership with Fudan University. "In an increasingly fragmented global landscape, the cultivation of strong relationships with international institutions is more critical than ever. In this context, Fudan University has emerged as a strategic partner for IE University in Asia, particularly in the area of research collaboration".
