The Master in Technology and Global Affairs, a joint program with Sciences Po, takes a multidisciplinary approach to prepare individuals to navigate the complex intersection of rapid technological change and the transformation of the global geopolitical landscape with skill and impact and to become fully equipped experts and leaders in the public or private sector. Focusing on the critical interaction between tech and international relations, the program imparts a deep understanding of tech's growing influence and interconnectivity with governance, global diplomacy, security, trade, and development.

Combining disciplines such as political science, international relations, economics, law and sociology with those of artificial intelligence, digitalization, fintech, cloud computing and big data analysis, the Master in Technology and Global Affairs provides a comprehensive exploration of the growing importance of technology in every aspect of international affairs.

A dual degree program launched jointly as a collaboration between IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs and Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs, the Master in Technology and Global Affairs prepares graduates to make a positive and meaningful contribution to the complex world of global affairs. Sciences Po, located in Paris, has a long and distinguished history in the fields of political science, international relations and public affairs. Like IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs, Sciences Po welcomes students from all over the world, promoting a diverse and cosmopolitan community that enriches discussion with a wide range of different viewpoints—an essential preparation for a career on a global scale.

Together, these two formidable institutions have designed a complete program that, over two years, weaves three key dimensions into a coherent academic offering: the impact of technology on geopolitical and security developments; the economic and business transformations driven by technology; and the impact on citizenship and fundamental rights. Issues related to the governance and regulation of tech will be treated as a fourth, cross-cutting dimension.

IE University’s Master in Technology and Global Affairs is a two-year program. The first year is spent at Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs, where students will build a strong foundation in Citizenship and Rights, Geopolitics and Security, and Prosperity and Economy, while gaining a practical introduction to technological skills. The second year takes place at IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs in Madrid. During this year, students build a more profound understanding of the technological skills and policy-related content that they were introduced to in Paris.
