MEET JOACHIM NAGEL: PRESIDENT OF THE DEUTSCHE BUNDESBANK

The IE Finance and Capital Markets Club and the IE European Union Club were honoured to host Joachim Nagel, President of the Deutsche Bundesbank, on November 2nd at the IE Tower.

The event was an open discussion and participants were invited to ask any questions they may have to President Nagel, followed by a cocktail reception.

Joachim Nagel is a German economist and currently is the President of the Bundesbank, the German Central Bank, after being appointed on January 1, 2022. Previously, he was the Deputy Head of Banking Department at the Bank for International Settlements from 2020 - 2021, a member of the supervisory board of Deutsche Börse AG from 2018 - 2020, a member of the executive council of KfW Group from 2017 - 2020 and a board member of the Deutsche Bundesbank from 2010 - 2016. He also holds a PhD in economics from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
