Rise Europe brings together innovation drivers from Europse’s most dynamic entrepreneurship hubs to make a positive global impact and mold a future oriented society.

IE School of Science and Technology had the pleasure of joining the Rise Europe event in Brussels this week, which brought together key players from politics, business, and academia across Europe with one clear purpose: to discuss how we can enable European Tech Champions.

Through engaging discussions, the speakers explored how to transform Europe from a research leader into a global force for economic, societal, and environmental impact.

Co-founded by IE University, Rise Europe united leading start-up ecosystems builders from 13 European countries, empowering them to make a positive global impact. Rise Europe addressed transitions and global challenges such as climate crisis and scarcity of resources that demand a joint effort to support startups to create a safe, future-oriented society.

The overall goal of Rise Europe is to match the innovativeness of countries like the USA and China by helping European start-ups to scale and become sustainable global market leaders. 2024 Brussels brought them one step closer to reaching this goal.

The event held with over two hundred representants of the EU ecosystem counted on the participation of leading voices such as Ann Mettler, Eva Maydell, Lidia Pereira and Kerstin Jorna in a panel discussion moderated by Jean-Michel Dalle focused on how to unite Europe in one ecosystem and Isidro Laso, Michiel Scheffer, Shiva Dustdar, Ricardo Marvão in conversation with Antonella Mei-Pochtler on how the EU can be a motor for the next Europe’s Tech Champions.

Rise Europe is fueled by five operating principles, Trust and Amplify through collaboration and co-creating, European and Proud through embracing Europe’s values, diversity and heritage, Bottom-up Top Down through empowering individuals across academia, entrepreneurship centers and industry, Think Different by encouraging diverse ideas to stakeholders to promote continuous learning push boundaries and build a world-class innovation ecosystem, and go Beyond borders by fostering scaling and internationalization.

The next Rise Europe Summit will take place in Copenhagen in May 2025.
