IE Business School and 4YFN launch mobile app competition for young Europeans

IE Business School, in collaboration with 4YFN 4 Years From Now, the global business platform for technology startups run by Mobile World Capital Barcelona, has brought out a second edition of the EU Mobile Challenge.

It is the European phase of a worldwide mobile app competition. Hence Europe is joining the challenge already taken up by Asia, Latin America, Russia, and the Middle East. The winners of each regional phase of the competition will compete in the world final at the Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona.

The overriding objective of the EU Mobile Challenge is to give young innovators the opportunity to translate their ideas into startups. They can present their apps to specialized audiences, thereby achieving visibility, funding and potential users. They also have the chance to take part in acceleration camps where they receive support from IE Business School professors and mentors who will help them learn more about entrepreneurial management. The 14 countries that will participate in the second edition of the competition are Spain, Portugal, Greece, Italy, UK, Holland, Germany, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.

Candidates can now register at www.EUMobileChallenge.com up until the November 30 deadline.  Participants must form teams with 2 to 6 members, aged between 18 and 35. After a preliminary selection process, teams will compete in the regional finals. The winner of the Spanish leg will receive a prize of €2,000. The European final of the EU Mobile Challenge will be held in Barcelona on February 2016. The three European winners will compete in February in the world final at the Mobile World Congress 2016, along with the three winners from each of the other regions or continents.
