Spencer Grohovsky
Spencer is from Nashville, Tennessee. He wanted a pro-social career, and a professor advised him to take his education further. Looking around for the right program, he discovered IE Business School and the Master in Sustainability & Business Transformation, which really stood out to him. His understanding of entrepreneurship has evolved over the course of the program, and he’s now looking to elevate people or businesses alongside his own professional success.

With his understanding of entrepreneurial success already undergoing quite a profound change, the Global Immersion Week he spent in Iceland made quite an impression on Spencer Grohovsky. Impressed by the Icelandic people’s ability to thrive in such testing environmental conditions, he learned a lot about specific elements of Iceland’s success: geothermal energy and the circular economy. Based in Madrid for his program, he’s immersed himself in the city’s culture, spending a lot of time outdoors and enjoying the diverse cultural offering of his favorite city in the world. With sustainability so important to him, Spencer and fellow IE University students have done a lot of work to raise awareness about waste in the textile industry. It’s all part of a learning journey he describes as an "emotional roller-coaster," but one which has shown Spencer how people are working together to make the world a better place.
