IE Business School among the best 10 business schools worldwide in the latest QS ranking
IE Business School is the No. 13 business school in the world for Executive MBA programs according to the ranking published today by Financial Times.

This result further consolidates IE Business School’s position as an international reference in management education and comes shortly after the School was ranked No. 1 in the world by FT for Online MBA programs (March 2017) and No. 3 in the world for Masters in Management (September 2017).

IE Business School’s Global Executive MBA was the program analyzed for the purposes of this latest FT ranking.The English-taught program is designed for senior managers with a markedly  international profile. It runs for 15 months and combines online modules with onsite periods in Madrid, Singapore, Los Angeles and Sao Paulo. It has a special focus on the management and leadership of multinational teams in an increasingly dynamic and digitalized world, and is run in collaboration with academic institutions that include Insper(Brazil), UCLA (U.S.) and Singapore Management University (Singapore). This year’s intake comprises some 90% foreign students from 19 countries with an average of 17 years’ management experience who have undertaken this educational experience while continuing to work in senior management positions.

“The overarching aim of the Global Executive MBA is to shape global executives,” says Ignacio Gafo, Vice Dean of Global & Executive MBA Programs at IE Business School. “In order to achieve this, we strive to foster high levels of diversity among the student body and faculty, not only in terms of nationalities, but also in terms of positions held, sectors, etc. We want to further enrich the experience by means of an environment with multiple visions. The students learn in digital environments using latest generation technology. They take part in residential periods in the U.S., Brazil, Singapore, and Spain, where they gain valuable insights into how to do business in different world regions. They build on their leadership skills with a special focus on managing multinational teams in an increasingly dynamic and digitalized business environment. In a world that is growing more global and digital by the day, the way we work is going to change. Senior managers have to manage virtual teams spread around the globe, with very different profiles. The key to success is to be capable of managing diversity in a changing business environment that is ever more digital.”

In this year’s edition the Financial Times team evaluated indicators like the degree of satisfaction among participants, career progression, increase in salary in the years following graduation from the program, levels of diversity among the faculty and student body, the international reach of the program, the degree to which expectations were met, and levels of research at the respective schools.

IE Business School has an extensive portfolio of Executive MBA programs run in blended and onsite formats, and taught in Spanish and English. They include, in addition to the School’s Global Executive MBA, the IE/Brown Executive MBA run jointly with Ivy League member Brown University in the US, recognized for its excellence in humanistic, social and scientific disciplines. The program combines online periods with onsite learning at IE’s campus in Madrid, Brown’s campus in Providence (US), and in Cape Town (South Africa).
