IE Business School and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management join forces to boost finance education
Frankfurt/Madrid, 6 May 2018. IE Business School and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management have signed a strategic agreement to launch joint finance education initiatives. “Financial jobs in mainland Europe are poised to experience strong growth due to events like Brexit and the creation of the Capital Markets Union. An alliance between two leading business schools based in two leading European cities that are set to benefit from these trends will amplify academic and job advantages for our finance graduates,” says Ignacio de la Torre, Director of the Masters in Finance of IE Business School.

Students of IE Business School’s Masters in Finance programmes can specialize in FinTech, corporate finance or investments. The programmes offer a selection of some two hundred subjects in fields that include capital markets, portfolio management, and corporate finance. Students can choose from over 60 electives covering areas like mergers and acquisitions, private equity, blockchain, crowdfunding, cryptocurrencies and artificial intelligence in the finance industry.

The methodology employed by IE Masters in Finance is highly practical and includes the use of tools like portfolio management simulators in real time using platforms such as Bloomberg, Factset and Matlab, a fixed income programming software. Students can round off their education in London and New York, visiting investment banks and hedge funds, meeting with finance directors, and finding out more about how the Wall Street or London Stock Exchanges work.

Frankfurt School’s Master of Finance is the leading finance master programme in Germany. The programme covers up-to-date topics such as Python programming and big data analysis and gives the students the possibility to specialize in Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Risk Management or Financial Advisory. In the Finance Lab students have access to more than a dozen Bloomberg terminals as well as other databases. The curriculum is rounded off by a broad range of finance and management electives, such as Mergers & Acquisitions, Alternative Investments & Private Equity, Blockchain or International Entrepreneurship.

Situated in continental Europe’s leading financial hub and with access to Germany’s largest finance faculty, the students have great opportunities for a successful career in finance. The flexible programme structure allows the students to work part-time 3 days a week so that students can already gain relevant work experience while studying. An obligatory International Finance Offsite in Luxembourg gives students the exposure to another financial hub in Europe.

The cooperation with IE gives students from both business schools the opportunity to get insights into another top-ranked finance programme in Europe and exposure to cutting-edge financial topics which are relevant in today´s financial markets.
