IE Business School launches its Executive MBA+ and Global MBA+ to provide a bespoke MBA experience

The unique system permits over 100 different combinations of specializations, languages and formats.

Madrid, June, 2012. IE Business School will be offering it new Executive MBA+  and Global MBA+ as from the start of the coming academic year. In addition to the management education element of the MBA, students undertake a module with a special focus on Global Management, Advanced Global Management, Corporate Finance, Information Technology, Marketing and Sales, Tourism Management, Sports Management, Biotechnology Management or Digital Marketing.  Participants in IE’s Executive MBA+ and Global MBA+ programs will now be able to customize their MBA programs by selecting from over 100 different combinations in terms of specializations, languages and formats using a unique system that permits students to design their MBA+ program a la carte based on their interests and preferences. IE Business School will be presenting the new programs through information sessions in all continents to explain what sets the Global MBA+ y el Executive MBA+ apart from other programs.

Students of IE Business School’s Global MBA+ and Executive MBA+ will receive an MBA education plus a specialization in the field of their choosing. They will also have the choice of doing either the core program or specialization module in English or Spanish, in face-to-face format on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and/or in blended format. Hence they will have access to a broader contact network with both a generalist and segment-specific profile. A student could, for example, opt to undertake the core MBA period in presential format and then do the specialization module online, or vice versa. The same choice is available for languages: the student can begin the program in Spanish and then do the specialization period in English, or vice versa. The networking potential is significantly greater given that the specialized modules are taught not only to students from different intakes of the Executive MBA+ and Global MBA+, but also on a stand-alone basis to IE graduates from other MBA intakes.

“At IE Business School we have taken a major step forward in MBA program design to provide a more customized response to student needs. In a changing world we cannot have just one type of program for so many profiles and management education needs. That is why we are committed to a modular system that can be adapted to the individual needs of each student and his or her preferences with regard to languages, format and specialization. This system permits us to respond quickly to changing markets and introduce new specializations and formats that make for maximum flexibility,” says David Bach, Dean of Programs at IE Business School.

The new Global MBA+ and Executive MBA+ programs are the latest addition to the IE Business School MBA program portfolio, which includes programs like the School’s International MBA, ranked third in Europe and eighth worldwide by  Financial Times (2012 MBA ranking), with a student body that this year comprises 87% international students from 76 countries. IE’s commitment to innovation and internationalization has resulted in the creation of programs like the IE Brown Executive MBA, run jointly with Brown University, offering an innovative combination of management and humanities. The IE Brown Executive MBA is aimed at directors with more than 10 years’ experience, and is a fusion of IE Business School’s strength in the field of business management and the recognition of Ivy League member Brown University in the field of humanistic, social and science disciplines.
