Mark is a global thought leader and innovator in the legal industry. He is the CEO of Legal Mosaic ( a a legal business consultancy; Distinguished Fellow at Northwestern University Law School; regular contributor to Forbes where he has a column on the global legal marketplace; and sought-after international speaker. Mark was appointed by the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) to serve as its inaugural LIFTED “Catalyst-in-Residence.” He will soon be taking on another role for SAL, leading SAL’s global initiative to identify new skills required of lawyers and legal professionals in the near future and to create global standards for training. Mark has guest taught at leading insitutions and organizations around the world including: Harvard, University College London, Bucerius, IE, College of Law (Australia), The U.S. Department of Justice, and many leading corporations, law firms, and legal providers including the Big Four. His LegalMosaic blog was recognized by the American Bar Association as one of the 50 outstanding worldwide legal blogs in their inaugural “Web 100.” He also serves as an Intelligence Fellow for ALM.

Mark has focused on “the business of law” since the turn of the millennium. Prior to that, he was a civil trial lawyer. During his years of practice he was a highly decorated Assistant United States Attorney, BigLaw Partner, founder of a multi-city national litigation boutique, outside General Counsel, and federally appointed Receiver of an international aviation parts company conducting business on four continents. Mark was an early adopter of legal tech as well as fixed-price billing, flex-time, and an agile workforce.
