Deelegence, the winning startup of the new edition of the Global LegalTech Venture Days
The final of the Global LegalTech Venture Days took place on June 8 at the South Summit Madrid, where the Australian startup Deelegence came out victorious.
The international contests for LegalTech startups, Global LegalTech Venture Days, has lived these days the final of its fifth edition in South Summit Madrid 2023. IE Law School, LexisNexis and the Law Schools Global League want to help promising young companies from New Delhi (India), New South Wales (Australia) and Turin (Italy) to unlock their full potential as catalysts for change and innovation in the legal industry.
In this year’s competition, 50 LegalTech startups have participated in these international events designed to foster the entrepreneurial ecosystem, connecting the best startups, investors, corporations, accelerators, and thought leaders.
During the final held at South Summit Madrid 2023, the biggest annual event in southern Europe that brings together entrepreneurs, investors, startups and corporation, the finalists from each country - amto.ai & Avinash Tripathi, from New Delhi (India); Deeligence & Justin Hansky, from New South Wales (Australia); y Zephorum y Giulia Salis, de Turin (Italy) - presented their projects to a judging panel comprising legal sector experts, investors, and lawyers from recognized law firms.
The ceremony began with a welcome from Soledad Atienza, Dean at IE Law School, who kicked off the competition. First to present was Deeligence, the winning startup from the New South Wales edition; whose technology provides corporate lawyers with state-of-the-art workflow tools to save time and improve collaboration when working on deals. Representing the startup was co-founder Justin Hansky.
Next up was the winner of the New Delhi edition, represented by co-founder Avinash Tripathi. amto.ai is the world's first AI assistant for lawyers, powered by ChatGPT and trained on Indian laws and regulations.
The last startup to present was Zephorum, the winner of the Turin edition, represented by its founder Giulia Salis, whose business model is based on the creation of an online ecosystem for digital estate and memorial services.
After the presentations concluded, Soledad Atienza interviewed Sébastien Bardou, VP Strategy for Continental Europe Middle East and Africa at LexisNexis. Bardou will be overseeing a six-month mentorship program at LexisNexis for this year’s winning startup. During their discussion, they explored the advantages and potential risks of using Artificial Intelligence in the legal profession.
