IE Law School, Harvard Law School Executive Education and Pérez-Llorca create the Global Legal Thinkers programme

IE Law School and Pérez-Llorca have launched the Global Legal Thinkers programme, designed ad hoc for senior lawyers, and recently-appointed partners at the Pérez-Llorca law firm. The programme will include modules on leadership and management led by Harvard Law School Executive Education.

Global Legal Thinkers, be comprised of short modules integrated into Perez-Llorca’s firm calendar, and will kick off in February 2022 and conclude in June 2022. The programme will be taught both at IE University (IE Tower), at Pérez-Llorca in Madrid and some sessions will be live-taught online. The programme covers areas including innovation, leadership, new business models and global socio-economic trends and seeks to provide Pérez-Llorca's team with the necessary tools to develop their careers and improve their technical and leadership skills from an internal and external, client-focused perspective, seeking optimum team management and development in the firm.

Global Legal Thinkers is a programme taught in English that combines online and face-to-face sessions. The program aims to offer content that is disruptive, transformative, experiential, and highly innovative, featuring interactive sessions, the use of case studies and showcasing leading research. The course is divided into two parts: the first centres on economic, political and social macro-trends, and the second focuses on leadership and innovation. These two parts combined will provide the professionals at Pérez-Llorca with insights, frameworks and tools to successfully lead through the complex challenges the global legal profession currently faces.

Scott Westfahl, Faculty Chair of Harvard Law School Executive Education says; “Our faculty is excited to facilitate a module on leadership within the Global Legal Thinkers programme to help law firm senior lawyers and recently-appointed partners navigate their increasingly complex roles and the challenges the legal profession currently faces. Our immersive sessions are designed to help build leadership skills and strategies, share academic research, provide the knowledge to apply relevant frameworks, and build a network for continued learning among the participants.”

In the words of Constanza Vergara Jaakkola, Partner and Corporate Development Director at Pérez-Llorca; “This programme features two of the best law schools in the world, IE Law School and Harvard Law School, with the aim to provide our professionals with a unique training experience in Spain, framed in the current social and macroeconomic trends. We have always believed that training is one of the cornerstones of professional and human development, which is why we have designed this programme as a platform on which to build our lawyers' knowledge and skills.”

“It is an honour for us to work with Harvard Law School Executive Education and the Pérez-Llorca law firm. This programme's mission is to train Pérez-Llorca's senior lawyers, counsels, and young partners to bring a positive impact to society through the practice of law,” says Soledad Atienza, Dean of IE Law School at IE University.

“Thanks to these alliances and corporate training programmes, IE Law School strengthens its commitment to cooperating with academics and business leaders from around the world. We are responding to the global needs of lawyers in today's disruptive, ever-changing environment.”
