Nenad Katic is an architect, designer and software engineer whose work spans many disciplines that interact at the intersection of creativity and technology. As an Associate Professor at IE, he introduces first year students to a broad range of digital tools and practices relevant to design and architecture, with the goal of instilling a productive, playful and inquisitive relationship with technology that students can build their academic, professional and creative lives upon.
He is founder of Nikokoneko, a design studio that creates playful software tools that help businesses improve efficiency and communication. Their client list includes a number of the world’s top development and construction companies such as DPR, Skanska, Boston Properties and Hines. They have worked on a number of prestigious projects, including Apple Campus 2, San Francisco Transbay Terminal and Salesforce Tower.
Katic has built real world structures, including an experimental sustainable house and a museum, led the ground-breaking development of world’s first digital city (for Cityzenith), art-directed dozens of successful architectural projects and coded virtual experiences from websites to interactive installations, video games and business apps for top companies worldwide.
