IE School of Global and Public Affairs signs a strategic partnership with the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy
The partnership agreement was signed at IE Tower during the NATO Summit in Madrid.
Manuel Muñiz, Dean of IE School of Global & Public Affairs, and Provost of IE University, and Peter Loewen, Director of the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, have signed an agreement to foster collaboration in education and research.
The signature took place in the sidelines of the NATO Summit taking place in Madrid on 29-30 June, and was referenced in a joint statement issued by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reinforcing Spanish-Canadian relations and referring to the new partnership between both universities as an example of collaboration in the higher education field.

The signature took place on the 30th of June at IE Tower, the new vertical, and sustainable campus of IE University in the financial centre of the Spanish capital. Earlier in the day, Pedro Sánchez and Justin Trudeau held a bilateral meeting at the seat of the Spanish Government, the Moncloa Palace. After that meeting both leaders issued a statement referring the MoU that IE and Munk were about to sign: “We (Canada and Spain)…will foster research and collaboration among public and private academic institutions, such as the new agreement between the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, and the IE University’s School of Global and Public Affairs.”
