"We are looking forward to strengthening the multilateral system in a world in which connectivity and technology are central. The IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs community will learn a lot from its partnership with ITU, its expertise and competence", highlighted Enrico Letta.

"Strengthening ITU’s ties with academia is key to seizing the opportunities and tackling the challenges of the digital age," said Doreen Bogdan-Martin. "Through our collaboration with IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs, we aim to empower the next generation of tech leaders and policymakers while shaping a digital future that works for everyone."

The collaboration creates opportunities for expert exchange, with the possibility of professors and specialists from both institutions participating in seminars, high-level conferences and workshops. Internships and engagement opportunities in policy simulations related to telecommunications and digital governance could help students gain meaningful and impactful experiences in shaping the future of digital policy. Collaborative research initiatives and studies related to emerging technologies, producing academic and knowledge materials, and integrating ITU’s expertise into the School´s academic programs are also being considered as part of the collaboration.

This collaboration reflects a shared vision. On one hand, for ITU, engaging with academia is key to achieving its strategic goals and advancing sustainable digital transformation. On another hand, and from IE University’s perspective, this cooperation reinforces its commitment to providing a learning environment where innovation, technologies and diversity play a key role in fostering a global vision, an entrepreneurial mindset, a humanistic approach and a sustainable impact for the generations of today and tomorrow.

Thanks to this collaboration, both IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs and ITU will work together to raise awareness about the opportunities, applications, and challenges of emerging technologies, promote professional development, and foster international dialogue and cooperation. Together, they aim to make a meaningful contribution by preparing a new generation of leaders equipped to drive innovation, sustainability, and positive change worldwide.
