Masterclass with Susana del Rio

On March 29th IE School of Politics, Economic and Global Affairs was pleased to welcome Susana del Rio Villar, Director of the Spanish Presidency cycle of the Council of the EU, PhD in Political Science and member of the Committee of Experts of the European Union.

In her visit to the Tower, Ms del Río enlightened IE students with a Masterclass on current issues and challenges in European Union, the main topics being the geopolitical awakening of the EU after the Brexit, the Sars-Covid 19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine; the European recovery funds Next Generation EU, and the challenge of synchronizing the ecological and digital transition.

Ms del Río had a dynamic discussion with IE students, touching upon the great achievements of the European management of the pandemic wounded up to be, and the need to uphold the European values of peace, intergenerational solidarity, and environmental respect, proclaiming that the new generations should be the protagonists of the future European project through the reinforcement of the digitalization and the green transformation.
