The renewal of the Pérez-Llorca/IE Commercial Law Chair reinvigorates international research on commercial law
The renewal of the Pérez-Llorca/IE Commercial Law Chair reinforces the institutions’ combined commitment to legal research on commercial law issues that impact international markets. For the last ten years, this initiative—which was co-created by IE Law School and law firm Pérez-Llorca—has been dedicated to commercial law research and knowledge-sharing with the wider legal community.
Over the years, the Chair has become a reference point in Spain and a forum for reflecting upon today’s most pressing legal developments. The initiative has held seminars in Madrid, Barcelona, New York and Miami with the participation of academics, judges and lawyers who have reflected upon and deepened their understanding of contemporary legal topics. Some of the topics that the Chair has dove into include corporate governance from a European and US perspective; the interaction between arbitration and jurisdiction; and acquisition strategies in Europe and the US.
Moving forward, the Chair will continue to take a comparative and international approach to commercial law, always considering different legal systems and countries. As a center for debate and reflection on regulatory changes and trends in commercial law, the Pérez-Llorca/IE Commercial Law Chair is dedicated to internationalization.
