The ICAM Foundation joins IE Law School’s Legal Clinic
IE Law School and the ICAM Foundation sign a collaboration agreement to promote practical training and social commitment in the legal field.
IE Law School and the Foundation of the Madrid Bar Association (Fundación ICAM-Cortina) have signed a collaboration agreement that strengthens their shared commitment to practical legal training and service to society.
This agreement marks a milestone in the trajectory of IE Law School’s Legal Clinic: for the first time, an alliance has been signed with a Bar Association, allowing its members to participate directly in supervising clinical projects developed with NGOs and foundations.
This collaboration not only ensures the quality of the legal advice provided to third-sector organizations but also significantly enriches the educational experience of students, who will work under the guidance of a practicing lawyer or a faculty member, connecting their academic training with the social and professional realities of the legal world.
Each Legal Clinic project is assigned to a team made up of one or more undergraduate students and one LL.M. student, enabling collaborative and intergenerational work between different academic profiles.
Moreover, this agreement will allow ICAM members to channel their pro bono work through clinical projects while gaining first-hand insight into the legal needs of nonprofit organizations.
WHAT IS IE LAW SCHOOL’S LEGAL CLINIC?
The Legal Clinic is an IE Law School program that provides hands-on experience to law students through pro bono work. Startups, social entrepreneurs, NGOs, foundations and other organizations benefit from our students’ legal services.
The students’ work is supervised by either a practicing lawyer or an internal faculty member.
