IE Law School and Northwestern Pritzker School of Law Launch Innovative Joint LLB / JD Program

IE Law School and Northwestern Pritzker School of Law are pleased to announce a new joint LLB/JD program, set to begin in Fall 2017.

This program will enable select students who begin an LLB degree at IE Law School to continue their studies at Northwestern Law, in its 2-year JD program for international lawyers. Eligible students will receive both degrees in five years, reducing the total time of study by two years.

“Northwestern Pritzker School of Law is among the world’s most prestigious law schools, and recognized for its leadership in integrating a global approach to law, business management, entrepreneurship and technology,” notes Javier de Cendra, Dean of IE Law School. “IE Law School´s vision is built exactly upon those values, and so we are very excited to launch this new partnership to attract the very best students.”

“This new agreement with Northwestern Pritzker School of Law strengthens the global approach to legal practice that we promote at IE Law School, by training students is a different legal system and enabling them to access the legal practice in a different jurisdiction,” adds Soledad Atienza, Vice Dean IE Law School.

As founding members of the Law Schools Global League, both Northwestern Law and IE Law are committed to the globalization of law and to the integration of global law in teaching and research. The close partnership between Northwestern Law and IE Law, including the new joint LLB / JD, is evidence of this commitment.

“IE has become one of the leading and most innovative law schools in Europe, and it has a substantially international LLB program,” says Dean Daniel B. Rodriguez of Northwestern Law. “We are pleased to expand our partnership with IE, which now encompasses several degree programs, and look forward to welcoming their excellent LLB students to Northwestern.”

The LLB/JD program will begin with students admitted to IE Law School in Fall 2017.
