IE Law School students at LWOW KickOff in Switzerland

Our Bachelor of Laws students participating in the Law Without Walls (LWOW) program this year, lived an engaging, enlightening and exciting weekend at the KickOff at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Every year LWOW kicks-off with two days of intensive idea generation, teambuilding, personality assessments, and other exercises that challenge the talents and vision of more than 100 students from around the world. In this community, LWOW seeks to transcend cultural divides and embrace our global mission: innovate solutions, hackathon style, to challenges and problems in legal education and practice.

This year the KickOff  took place in the University of St. Gallen, where students from 28 top law and business schools worldwide gathered for the weekend of January 13th and 14th to prepare themselves for the LWOW experience. This exciting weekend was the first part of a four-month program in which students engage with leading practitioners and mentors from across the globe through weekly virtual mentoring sessions to create a project of worth that proposes a solution to a real-life problem regarding the legal marketplace. The LWOW  experience will end with the “ConPosium” in the University of Miami where the students will present their projects in front of a panel consisting of venture capitalists and multidisciplinary judges. Results will be judged on the basis of the creativity, viability and substance of the projects.

It was amazing to see so many talented people together exchanging thoughts and ideas. We mainly got to know our teams and network with the LWOW Community, while both working and honing our soft-skills. Having so many talented and successful people there, giving their time and expertise to adapt to 21st century industry needs, was definitely an amazing way to kick-start the LWOW journey”, said Aida, who is participating in the LWOW original version of the programe, while Pedro is participating in the online version (LWOWX).
