IE Business School Once Again Leads QS Ranking of World’s Best Online MBA Programs

IE Business School Once Again Leads QS Ranking of World’s Best Online MBA Programs
The 2022 ranking boasts the largest list of Online MBA programs yet from the global business education analysts QS Quacquarelli Symonds.

For the fifth consecutive year, IE Business School ranks 1st in the QS Online MBA Rankings. According to the QS Online MBA 2022 ranking, IE Business School’s Global Online MBA program received the highest scores of any program for Faculty and Teaching, the second-best for Employability, and attained the joint-seventh-best score for Class Experience. The ranking also took into consideration that 70% of IE Business School’s graduating cohort received promotions one year after graduating from the Global Online MBA program and 16% of its graduating cohort started their own companies.

The Global Online MBA allows students, who as a class typically represent more than 50 nationalities – this year’s ranking notes students represent a diverse total of 63 – to explore business foundations in a flexible, customizable, and highly interactive learning environment. Students now have the option of completing the program in either 17 or 24 months, and can choose to participate in the course fully online or in a blended format that includes face-to-face periods in Madrid.

“Leading the QS Online MBA Rankings is certainly a recognition of the very early commitment IE University’s founders and my predecessors made to education in the digital world 20 years ago.”
Lee Newman, Dean of IE Business School

“Now, it’s critical to keep innovating as the online MBA demanded by the market soon will likely be very different than what we see in the market today,” said Lee Newman, Dean of IE Business School.

Newman continued, “The pandemic accelerated pre-existing trends towards a more liquid type of learning experience that puts the unique needs and evolving context of the student front-and-center. Our student population is incredibly global and diverse and these days it’s difficult for a student to predict what personal, local, or global challenge might arise. So, demand for adaptable, online MBAs is growing and the profile of students is similar to the profile of a full-time MBA.”

“Online MBA programs across the world are becoming more popular – a trend accelerated by the pandemic – and we anticipate that this rise in student interest will increase. As ever-more business schools seek to place their offerings in front of ever-more potential students, our rankings will continue to help MBA candidates differentiate between the myriad options now available to them, using independent data and a methodology carefully crafted to capture the quality of the online learning experience,” commented Nunzio Quacquarelli, CEO at QS Quacquarelli Symonds.
