IE Business School’s new Global MBA takes digital transformation education to the next level
Madrid, May 2018. IE Business School’s Global MBA program has been reinvented to take education in the field of digital transformation and disruption to the next level. Forty per cent of the new Global MBA is focused on this field. The key objective of the program is to shape leaders who are capable of reinventing management practices in a business environment that has been revolutionized by technology. To date, managers from over sixty countries have done IE Business School’s Global MBA, an English-taught blended program that runs for eighteen months.
“Global MBA students are high-potential managers with an international profile,” says Ignacio Gafo, vice dean of global and executive programs at IE Business School. “They all have something in common, namely that they want to shape the new rules of the game in a new business environment characterized by high levels of volatility and change. They want to transform management in their firms and sectors. They want to redefine the concept of management and they’re aware of the pivotal role technologies play in decision making. This program is about driving management and leadership skills coupled with a special component dedicated to equipping students with the capacity to leverage the digital, cultural and technological transformation of business to the full.”
The student body of IE’s Global MBA comprises 95% international participants and the program combines online modules with onsite periods held in Madrid, coupled with optional residential periods in cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Israel, Mumbai and Shanghai. During the online periods students participate in synchronous and asynchronous sessions, videoconferences and discussions through the globalized and digital environment provided by the WOW Room, IE’s classroom of the future.
In addition to the Global MBA, IE Business School’s blended program portfolio includes the Executive MBA and the IE SMU MBA, a ten-month program run jointly with Singapore Management University and focused on business strategies for the Asia Pacific region. IE Business School also runs the IE Brown Executive MBA jointly with Brown University, a member of America’s Ivy League. The IE Brown Executive MBA program combines IE’s experience and prestige in the field of management education with Brown’s reputation for excellence in the fields of humanities and social sciences. IE also runs the Global Executive MBA, a program for senior managers that combines onsite periods in Madrid, Singapore, Los Angeles and Sao Paulo, with online modules.
