The Master in Finance at IE Business School is a full-time, 10-month program in Madrid, Spain, taught entirely in English and designed for ambitious, quantitatively strong candidates who want to accelerate careers in global finance. It blends core financial fundamentals with technology, sustainability and hands-on market exposure so you can perform under real-world pressure. The program is built on pillars such as Finance Fundamentals, Corporate Finance, Global Markets and Technology in Finance, as well as specialization tracks to focus your learning on what matters most to you.

The Master in Finance is a full-time, 10-month, in-person program in Madrid, with September and April intakes.

During Term 3 of our Master in Finance, you can choose a specialization, tailor your study with electives, opt for one of two certification options or pursue an exchange abroad.

For your specialization, you may choose one of three tracks:

• Investment Banking & Private Equity
• Global Markets & Asset Management
• Real Estate & Alternative Investments

During the Master in Finance you may choose one of two certifications to give you deep, highly specialized knowledge in key areas of the sector: Finance Technologies & Artificial Intelligence, or Sustainable Finance.

The Master in Finance is designed to be highly practical. You’ll train in the Trading Room with Bloomberg terminals, working with real data under market pressure. You can also join applied labs such as the M&A Lab or Venture Lab, and take part in competitions such as the CFA Research Challenge.

The Master in Finance offers optional study trips to top financial hubs such as London and New York, as well as social impact destinations such as Ghana. You may also go on a short exchange during Term 3 to expand your market perspective and networks at one of three leading financial institutions: Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, London Business School or the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Yes. As a Master in Finance student, you'll have the opportunity to pursue an optional internship during the electives period or after the program to apply your skills in a professional setting.

For your final exam, you can choose from individual or group options that best suit your interests. Individual options include writing a practice case, completing a Portfolio Management Practicum, or solving an academic case. Group options include participating in the CFA Competition, completing a Corporate Group Valuation, undertaking Academic Research, or taking on a Microfinance Consulting project in Ghana.
