IE University hosts tech, women leadership and negotiation experiences through CIVICA Student Engagement Fund (SEF).

IE University students enjoyed the opportunity of collaborating with fellow European students in a series of workshops, conferences and hands-on real experience thanks to CIVICA. Its Student Engagement Fund (SEF) funds activities that foster collaboration among the alliance’s campuses and students, enabling them to gain know-how on European challenges and complete their educational experience.

These past months, activities included HackED 2025, coordinated between the Hertie School Education Policy Club and the IE Big Data and AI Club. Additionally, the Women Leadership Conference reunited students from Sciences Po and Central European University (CEU). The Warsaw Negotiation Round was organized between the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH), IE University (IE) and the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE).

HackED 2025 inspired students to create technological solutions for education access, inequality and quality. It was a path to transform education through exchange and student networking. In the two-days competition, thirty students cooperated and put to the test their innovation and entrepreneurial skills. The winning team, composed of two students from IE University and a student from Hertie, developed a learning platform to guide ADHD students. DivergED included personalized tools, engaging content, and their own university course materials to tailor the learning experience to their needs. Other teams tackled issues such as the integration of refugee children into new educational systems. Students even designed a chatbot for personalized education for both students and professors.

The Warsaw Negotiation Round was created by IE University, SGH and SSE. The international competition, based on negotiation skills, recently stopped in Madrid after the first round in Stockholm. It fostered durable relationships among participants before the final, in Warsaw. The Warsaw Negotiation Round challenged students from all over the world to negotiate on global issues, such as migration and climate change, together with business topics. They received feedback and instruction from experts coming from leading institutions, including Harvard Business School and Oxford University.

The Women Leadership Conference, with students from CEU and Sciences Po, provided two-days filled with conversations on women leadership and growth to create networks that empower women in business. It not only gave the change to showcase inspiring women from underrepresented industries, but it also provided tools to promote the personal and professional development of each attendee. Under the theme "Trailblazers: Women Shaping Their Future", the event enjoyed the presence of worldwide recognized experts, such as Irena Å arac (Ambassador of Serbia), Irene Gonzalvez (Product Lead at Spotify), and Annabel Keech (Global Business Development Director at Suntory).

HackED, the Warsaw Negotiation Round and the Women Leadership Conference provided new connections, experiences and exchanges at IE University. Thanks to CIVICA and IE University’s active student engagement, European universities came together to cultivate unique experiences that gathered experts and students from all over the world.Â
