IE Law School and the strategic partnership with the ICC in the new Master in International Legal Studies (LL.M.)
From innovative learning to unique specializations and an ICC partnership, this program prepares legal professionals for an impactful career.
The modern legal landscape is more complex and interconnected than ever. As technology advances at break-neck speed, and the collective faces pressing societal challenges, there’s a need to prepare legal professionals for the evolving marketplace. Now, with the new Master in International Legal Studies (LL.M.), IE Law School intends to do just that.
Built for specialization
The Master in International Legal Studies (LL.M.) is a full-time, 10-month program conducted entirely face-to-face in Madrid. Focused on various areas of legal practice, it dives into the evolution of international law in response to challenges stemming from globalization and emerging technologies.
The program’s unique priorities attract a diverse cast of ambitious legal professionals from international backgrounds. As a result, it offers a fast-paced yet inclusive, holistic environment rich with a range of perspectives, insights and worldviews. Coupled with a faculty that holds extensive experience in legal practice and research, students will gain a detailed, firsthand view of the legal sector.
More importantly, students with different interests and goals can find the right concentration area for their profile. The Master in International Legal Studies (LL.M.) offers two distinct areas of specialization, namely International Economic Law and Human Rights in the Digital Society. Armed with this expert technical knowledge—and hands-on practice gained from real projects—students pursuing this program can redirect their careers to the paths that interest them most.
Collaborating for excellence
However, one of the most enriching aspects of the Master in International Legal Studies (LL.M.) is the collaboration with our strategic partner, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the largest representative business body in the world. This partnership grants students access to a wealth of knowledge, expertise and resources from the organization, plus a chance to network with high-level leaders. Further, the ICC periodically organizes exclusive workshops, seminars and events to facilitate connection, mentorship and knowledge exchange.
Apart from enriching the academic experience, the collaboration also gives students a chance to visit the organization’s headquarters in Paris, France. Over one week, they’ll be able to hear directly from industry experts and put what they’ve learned into practice. Later, through a tailored distance learning course, our students can comfortably pursue an ICC Academy’s Certificate in Digital Trade Strategy and Export/Import Certificate.
Enriching classrooms and beyond
Through all these initiatives, the Master in International Legal Studies (LL.M.) is designed to build practical experience. The Legal Immersion Experience, for instance, lets students explore the legal landscape in different global legal and business hubs worldwide. Similarly, our mentoring program and immersive learning experiences such as the Legal Clinic help them keep their skills sharp, even after graduation.
