IE Business School ranked No. 1 in the world for Online MBA programs by Financial Times

IE Business School is the best business school in the world for the third consecutive year in the annual ranking of Online MBA programs carried out by Financial Times.

IE Business School has kept the No. 1 position worldwide with its Global MBA  and consolidated its position as the best business school for a blended MBA program.

IE’s Global MBA is a part-time English-taught program that runs for 15 months. It has received students from over 60 countries and ninety four percent of its student body are international students. It combines onsite modules held at IE’s Madrid campus with online modules that include video conferences and forums that enable discussion in a globalized and digital environment. The Financial Times ranking examines aspects that include student profiles, career progression, academic experience, levels of diversity, and the quality of faculty.

Ignacio Gafo, Vice Dean of Part-time, Blended and Executive Programs at IE Business School explains that the blended methodology employed for the Global MBA make it unique. “It combines onsite sessions with video conferences, simulations and online discussions which afford flexibility and drive internationalization. By way of example, each year we work with students from some 40 countries who enrich the learning experience. Over 60% of professors are international and the faculty is comprised of a mix of academics and practitioners,   making for a set of profiles that bring knowledge, research and corporate experience in equal measures. “Throughout the program students have the opportunity to take part in modules held in different countries. In recent years, they have travelled to destinations that include Shanghai, Silicon Valley and Sao Paulo, to get to know corporate realities there and understand the way  business is done in different parts of the world.”

IE Business School’s portfolio of blended programs includes the Global MBA, the Executive MBA and the IE/SMU MBA, a 10-month program focused on business strategies in the Asia Pacific region, run jointly with Singapore Management University. Moreover IE Business School runs the IE/Brown Executive MBA jointly with Ivy League member Brown University. The IE/Brown Executive MBA combines the experience and prestige of IE in the field of management with those of Brown in the fields of humanities and social sciences. IE also offers the Global Executive MBA, a program for top managers which combines onsite periods in Madrid, Singapore, Los Angeles and Sao Paulo, with online sessions.

There has been a marked increase in the use of technology in education in recent years. According to international reports* 98% of firms intend to increase or maintain their spending on blended education programs over the next 2 years. In 2014 almost 30% of corporate training programs were delivered using a blended format.
