The 2023 AHRMIO conference was also an occasion for IE University students to engage with the network of HR professionals and explore career opportunities.

Building on its strategy to foster valuable partnerships with and across the public, private and non-profit sectors, IE University was last week at the heart of the debate on the future of workplace as it hosted the 2023 Conference of the Association for Human Resources Management in International Organizations (AHRMIO).

In today’s ever-changing professional world, understanding and managing organizational culture is critical for effective Talent Management across sectors, becoming particularly critical in organizations as diverse as International Organizations. For three days, the Conference provided a safe space for Human Resources representatives from iconic International Organizations to learn, share best practices, and drive positive change in their workplaces.

The highlight of the conference was a keynote by Diarietóu Gaye, Vice President for People and Culture at the World Bank Group. Other participants included representatives from the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, several regional development banks, as well as academic experts.

“Universities were ultimately created to become drivers for positive social transformation. With that in mind, IE University is actively collaborating with over 25 international organizations, including many UN agencies, development banks and others. Hosting and co-organizing the AHRMIO Conference has been an honor for us, as it represents the trust and added value that international organizations see in us. We remain fully committed to making a difference and joining forces with others”, said Jaime de Aguinaga, Vice Provost for Strategy and Development at IE University.

The 2023 AHRMIO conference was also an occasion for IE University students to engage with the network of HR professionals and explore career opportunities through a case study contest. Students participating in the contest were competing for a series of 6-month internships at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the Portugal-based International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, and the Brussels-based civil-military organisation Eurocontrol.
