This study investigates how employees react to performance feedback in a Fortune 500 firm's distribution center with individual performance pay. The research finds that employees adjust their effort based on feedback content, increasing effort when the feedback suggests a high marginal benefit and decreasing it when the benefit is low. Notably, the impact of performance feedback is more pronounced in the lower quantiles of productivity distribution.
