Calum Hedigan
I’ve played rugby ever since I was 5 years old. It has always been a huge part of my life in terms of making friends, who became part of a second family. It also helped me learn how to be disciplined and put myself on the line to help the team move forward. It’s a sport which has given me so much that a small paragraph really couldn’t do it justice. Coming to IE, it seemed too strange to simply stop playing, so I created the IE Rugby Club with some friends and I must say, captaining the team over the past 4 years has been a pleasure.

Calum Hedigan grew up in Scotland before moving to Spain to study English and Spanish law at IE University when he was 17 years old. He is currently pursuing a Doble Máster de Acceso con Emprendimiento y TecnologÃa at IE Law School. Calum has always enjoyed filling up his schedule with anything and everything he can get his hands on. When he arrived at IE University, he jumped head-first into everything it had to offer: in his 1st year, he founded and coached the IE Rugby Club, captaining it for 4 years. He also took up the role of Treasurer-turned-President of the IE Student Government for three years. He has a great passion for the entrepreneurial world, currently working in the startup Grind Madrid, a global entrepreneurial community across over 100 countries, as well as working hard as Chief of Business Development at NosterLex, a legal tech startup based in Lithuania, set to open for business in early 2019.
Being at IE University, I’ve really learned how to come out of my shell. I’m naturally a very introverted person, but being in such a diverse and open-minded environment has helped me get rid of my insecurities and just be unreservedly me. I can never thank IEU enough for everything it’s done for me.
