IE University holds the 2022 Prizes in the Humanities award-giving ceremony

Students, alumni, professors and staff submitted a record number of nearly 1,000 entries in the categories of poetry, short stories and essays, video and photography.

IE University has once again shown its commitment to the arts and humanities at the award ceremony today for the IE Foundation’s 2022 Prizes in the Humanities. The seventh edition of the event took place at IE Tower, the institution's technological and sustainable campus in Madrid, where students from 140 countries attend classes. 

Students, alumni, professors and staff of the institution who participated in this year’s Prizes in the Humanities Awards submitted a record number of nearly 1,000 entries in the categories of poetry, short stories and essays in Spanish and English, video, photography and photography. The jury that evaluated the entries included national and international literary and photographic figures such as Javier Moro, Namita Gokhale and Álvaro Ybarra.

Diego del Alcázar Silvela, founder and president of IE University, recognized the outstanding work and results of Victoria Gimeno at the helm during the seven editions of the Humanities Awards. “I am searching for words to recognize Victoria Gimeno, who, through many generous contributions, has managed to show the spirit of the Prizes in the Humanities in the classrooms and in the corridors of IE University, which has allowed us to be here today to celebrate this much-loved award,” he said. Catalina Tejero and Mª José Ferrari, Vice Deans of the IE University Humanities Arts Division, will now lead the awards.

The IE Foundation Humanities Awards, in collaboration with IE University's Division of Arts and Humanities, reflect the humanistic vision of IE University students, alumni, faculty and staff, highlighting critical thinking and the ability to experience and reflect on the world from new perspectives.
