Purpose is a simple concept that can be hard to nail down. Understanding what brings meaning to your work is a process of self-discovery, with answers that might only become clear with time and experimentation. But gaining fulfillment from what you do is one of the most important ways to enrich your career and ensure the path you take will sustain you for the long term.
In the Master in Management, we’ll work with you to drill down into where your passions lie, what drives you and how you challenge yourself – in other words, to figure out what purpose means to you. Our unique curated learning experience is designed to allow you to explore different career pathways as your understanding of your purpose evolves, and to be flexible enough to ensure your career goals remain aligned to it throughout that process. With our faculty to guide you, you’ll learn how to harness your strengths to build a lasting career with purpose as its foundation.
Our graduates understand that a better world is achievable and work towards making it happen. We call it Business with Purpose. Our mission is to create a movement led by a new generation of professionals who share our belief that business leaders carry a responsibility – to the planet, to society and to the wellbeing of others. With our guidance, you’ll become a leader who can make a difference in a way that matters to you.
We believe better business practices can be a force for change in the world, improving lives and protecting the environment. We call this Sustainable Business, and it’s one of the cornerstones of our program. As part of your studies, we’ll ground you in the key concepts that make Sustainable Business a reality, including the energy transition, regenerative business and how to incorporate sustainability into every area of an organization. We all have a responsibility to the planet – none more so than the next generation of business leaders starting out at IE Business School. We’ll show you how to make sustainability a rich vein of thought that runs through everything you do.
Bringing an entrepreneurial mindset to social issues is one of the most effective ways to use your business skills for a wider good. We call this Social Entrepreneurship, an approach that harnesses the power of your ingenuity and problem-solving abilities to tackle enduring social problems. Studying the Master in Management is about maximizing your potential – both as a business professional and as a person. Part of that means using the skills and strengths you acquire to make a difference to society at large. Graduates of IE Business School thrive under the pressure of a tight deadline or a challenging target; we’ll help you use those traits to amplify the benefit you bring to the world around you.
At IE Business School, we believe people matter just as much as results. We call this Working Well. An inclusive workplace that prioritizes employee wellbeing is no longer an optional extra – it’s key to creating an environment where people can thrive. Positivity leads to productivity, a fact no business can afford to ignore, while diversity is a strength in and of itself. The culture of a business comes from the top, so the leaders of tomorrow will need to recognize the importance of inclusivity and wellbeing and make it integral to what they do – anything less will put them at a competitive disadvantage. In the Master in Management, we’ll mold you into a professional who creates working environments designed to get the best out of people and demonstrates the power of positive leadership in everything you do.
At IE Business School, we define purpose as your unique sense of meaning and direction in life. And we know that pursuing your purpose can improve your life satisfaction, motivation, and overall wellbeing. It’s a win-win. Aligning your career goals with your sense of purpose can also help you make a positive impact in the world and contribute to a better future for all.
To help you discover and pursue your purpose, the Master in Management program offers a range of experiential learning activities and workshops. The program includes a Career Discovery Program designed to help you explore your interests and passions and to align your career goals with your sense of purpose.
