KNOW MORE ABOUT OUR ADMISSIONS PROCESS
The admissions process is a rolling process; therefore there is no deadline to receive applications. Notwithstanding, early application is recommended given the limited number of seats in the program.
The admissions process is opened to working lawyers and other professionals with three years of professional experience. An applicant without a first degree in law may be admitted as a candidate for the Master of Studies in Law (MSL) degree on proof of substantial work experience dealing with legal or regulatory matters.
The admissions process starts with the completion of the online application form. The online form allows to save the application at any time and to attach all documentation required:
- Official transcripts from all undergraduate, graduate, and law schools attended
- Curriculum Vitae
- Photocopy of passport or national ID card
- Letter of recommendation
- Although not compulsory, candidates can submit TOEFL scores as additional evidence of English proficiency
- Application fee: 125 Euros
- Letter of sponsorship from employer (if applicable)
- Personal statement
The main objective of the interview is to fully understand the candidate’s professional background, experience and exposure, to assess the candidate’s abilities to interact.
This interview will be conducted in person by a faculty member or administrator from IE Law School or Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. For our international applicants, the interview can be done by phone or via Skype.
Once the interview is complete, the overall application, including the interview report, will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee , which decides whether to admit or deny admission to the candidate. The admission decision is communicated to the candidate via email and will remind any documents or further information required by the Commitee.
Candidates for the MSL degree may request the optional Spring Semester in Chicago; these requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Successful candidates will be provided with a contract, shortly after their decision has been communicated, which will include information about how to reserve their spot on the program and how to finalize enrollment. Candidates will work closely with our admissions team through this process.
