Farah Sabobeh

About me

A trained architect, Farah began to consider a role in strategic design while living and working in Dubai. In this innovative environment, she was inspired to pursue thoughtful and purposeful approaches to design and business. Matching this with a deep awareness of local and global trends, Farah began to design unique, innovative and sustainable spaces that maintained their true authenticity.

She aspired to expand her expertise in this growing field, and decided to join the Master in Strategic Interior Design.

Designing human-centric spaces for the community

Farah Sabobeh

The Program

If Farah had to describe the Master in Strategic Interior Design in one word it would be “inspiring.” She acquired technical knowledge as well as key interpersonal skills such as empathy, agility, collaboration, communication and critical thinking. In her own words, “The program has not only made me a better architect, but an even better person.”

The Master in Strategic Interior Design played a key part in cementing Farah’s interest in community-powered and human-centric work. Now working as a Cultural Consultant and Design Strategist with creative, purpose-driven organizations in the UAE, Farah utilizes the knowledge she acquired on the master’s program every day.

Ultimately, the human-centric approach Farah developed on the master’s program informs her daily activities: “The projects we undertake aim to create long-term impact through design, while fostering a community-powered approach to problem solving.”

 The Future

Emboldened by her new knowledge, Farah is convinced that strategic design for business is key to rethinking why, what and how designers work. This focus imbues every aspect of her work.

During a typical day, Farah will explore synergies with the creative community, curate tailored events and develop spatial, social and organizational solutions that, importantly, “involve and include communities.”

Different projects bring different challenges. Yet 2020—with its unique obstacles—has transformed the way the world does business. Looking to the future, Farah is excited to witness and contribute to more agile and adaptive working styles.

Farah decided to take the Design & Architecture path and it’s led her on an exciting journey full of success. To discover more potential professional destinations, read our student stories from other program areas.
