START YOUR CAREER IN IMMERSIVE DESIGN

The Master in Design for Immersive Experiences and XR is designed for designers, technologists, and creative professionals who want to work with immersive design, XR (AR/VR), spatial computing, interaction design, and creative technology. Ideal candidates are curious, experimental, and motivated to build human-centered immersive experiences across physical and digital environments.

Applicants typically come from design, architecture, media, computer science, engineering, and digital arts, but professionals from other disciplines are encouraged to apply. The program has a strong focus on making, whether physical, hybrid, or digital. Experimentation, forward thinking, and curiosity are strongly valued.

*Conditions:  

  • Tuition is reviewed on a yearly basis and therefore subject to change. 
  • Special Conditions for IE Alumni, please contact your admissions advisor for more information. 
  • To become an IE University student, all IE Community members should make a one-off contribution to the IE Foundation. This is a single payment of €1,200 to be made during the enrollment process.

We understand that you’re making a significant investment and we believe that maximizing the availability of payment plan options is important in making your Master affordable. Our payment plans offer the following benefits.

Kindly note that plans with more than 3 consecutive installments will be charged 400€ for the administrative service it involves.

    The ability to pay your tuition fees in up to 5 consecutive installments for the Full Time program and 8 consecutive installments for the Part Time program

    Our payment plans are interest-free and there are no pre-approval requirements or credit checks

APPLICATION PROCESS

ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

Candidates should complete the sections that appear in the online application form and must also upload the following documents:


  • Bachelor degree from an accredited university (*)
  • Official university transcripts (certified translation into English or Spanish)
  • 1 page CV/Resume. See example here.
  • Contact information of two relevant academic or professional references.
  • English language certificate – we accept the TOEFL (minimum score of 100 but 105 recommended), the IELTS (minimum score of 7 but 7.5 recommended), Duolingo English Test (minimum score 130) or a Cambridge Advanced level. A certificate is not required if you are a native speaker, you completed an undergraduate degree in English, you have worked and lived for more than two years in an English speaking country, or if you have extensive professional experience in English. Nevertheless, should the Admissions Committee find it necessary, they may request one of the certificates mentioned above**
  • Photocopy of current passport
  • Passport size picture
  • Personal Statement

**The validity of all previously mentioned English language certificates for IE’s admissions process is two years from the date you took the exam.

ONLINE ASSESSMENT

Once you have submitted your online application and paid the application fee, you will receive a link to answer three live questions, two in video format and one in written format. This way, our admissions team will be able to meet you virtually and evaluate your capacity to respond in real time.

ENTRANCE EXAM

Students are required to take either the GMAT, GRE or IEGAT.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW

You will have a personal interview (face-to-face or via online) with a manager of the Admissions Team.

ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE FINAL DECISION

The Admissions Department will contact you with the final resolution of your Admissions process. Should it be positive, you will be guided through next steps for your enrollment.
