I was born in Caracas, Venezuela. I earned my Bachelor in Mass Communication from the Universidad Monteávila, before taking part in IE Business School’s Master in Management. I’m passionate about marketing and driving disruption. I worked at L’Oréal Venezuela for almost two years. I spent one year there as intern in the Active Cosmetic Division, where I dealt with the La Roche-Posay and Vichy brands. I became Assistant Brand Manager for the same division. Working in Venezuela, where we are currently going through a serious crisis, brings new challenges every day. As situations can change in a matter of hours, you develop the ability to find solutions and opportunities, without ever losing hope.
I am developing my own entrepreneurial project in Madrid. It involves building an online space for the Latino community called El Manual. I have had the opportunity to participate in the Venture Lab, making it as far as the semi-finals. I believe in humankind’s capacity to change, to be good, and I believe in the genius every person has within.
It’s been a journey of change.
For me, this program has been a wholly transformational experience, challenging me both personally and professionally.
On the one hand, moving to Madrid to study at IE Business School was a new life experience. I had never lived away from home for more than one month before, never mind somewhere I’d never even been to. But this is exactly what happened when I moved to Madrid.
On the other hand, the MIM has helped me move forward substantially in my professional life, helping me think in new ways. After the MIM, I am able to look at both business and my own professional life with a 360º perspective. In Venezuela, I studied mass communication, and the approaches I took to solving business problems were based on my knowledge of marketing and communications. But know, with the knowledge I’ve gained in MIM, I have a varied and disruptive skills set at my disposal to solve any problems that come up.
My favorite memory is first meeting the other members of Group D during a class on teamwork on the basketball court. We had a great time there, and have all become good friends since.
Networking is a daily activity at the MIM. You are always talking to new people from different places, making new friends from all around the world. Networking and making friends is just part of the MIM experience.
