About me

I come from a family where everyone from my father’s side has a background in Finance. My passion for finance was deeply rooted in my father, who is a practicing Chartered Accountant with 30+ years of experience. Seeing his dedication and compassion towards his work largely inspired me to pursue this course at a very young age and ace it. Having worked for 4+ years in this industry in roles such as Investment Banking, Financial Controlling, Auditing, and Due Diligence, I’ve realized that the key difference between professionals lies in adding value to the client’s business and staying updated with relevant economic and financial market information.

What is your role as a Talent and Careers Ambassador, and what have you learned from this experience?

As a Talent and Careers Ambassador, I took up the role to step out of my comfort zone, ask the right questions, and build lasting relationships by assisting in organizing core finance events such as Investment Banking and Asset Management Day. My role involves coordinating among teams to create an enriching experience for students and professionals, acting as the eyes and ears of the class to understand their requirements, and liaising with the right people to make it happen. This experience has taught me the importance of proactive networking and collaboration in a professional setting.

How did your previous work experience influence your decision to pursue a Master in Finance?

Working in multiple finance roles made me realize the importance of staying ahead in the industry by continuously upgrading my knowledge. I’ve always believed in understanding the core concepts of finance rather than just memorizing them. My exposure to Investment Banking, Auditing, and Due Diligence highlighted the need for advanced expertise and global exposure, which motivated me to pursue a Master in Finance to diversify my firm’s operations worldwide.

Why did you choose to study the Master in Finance at IE Business School?

I chose IE University because of its prestige and recognition in organizing high-quality business and finance events. I was excited about the opportunity to network with industry professionals and expand my firm globally. The university’s strong emphasis on networking and professional growth aligned perfectly with my belief that ‘Network is Net Worth.’

What resources at IE have helped you grow professionally: career services, mentorship, networking, other?

I’ve greatly benefited from IE’s networking resources, which have provided me with the right platform to connect with industry professionals. Additionally, participating in finance events, career services, and mentorship programs has enhanced my professional growth. The university’s focus on inclusivity and real-world engagement has been instrumental in shaping my career trajectory.

Are you involved in any clubs, initiatives, or extracurricular activities at IE, which ones and what do you like the most about it?

I’m an active participant in the IE India Club, IE Finance, and Capital Markets Club, where I help organize cultural and professional events. I truly appreciate the IE India Club’s efforts in promoting cultural events like Holi, Diwali, and Kathak (Indian classical dance), including international students in these celebrations. Additionally, I engage in sports and well-being activities such as Volleyball, Cricket, and Swimming, which provide a well-rounded experience.

Which Career Track did you choose during the master and why?

I chose Global Markets and Asset Management as my career track because I like creating an active portfolio and engaging in derivatives and options trading. This track helps me understand market fundamentals and prepares me to manage both my own and clients’ portfolios effectively.

What are your career aspirations after completing the program and how is IE preparing you for your next step?

My goal is to expand my firm’s operations globally by leveraging the knowledge and network gained at IE. The program’s focus on practical learning, industry events, and networking opportunities is equipping me with the skills to add value to clients’ businesses and stay ahead in the financial market. And I’m really grateful to IE for making me part of the wonderful community in order to become the ‘next best you’

What advice would you give to someone considering the Master in Finance program?

The simple advice I would give is to embrace the opportunity and take full advantage of the IE resources. Networking, staying updated with industry trends, and actively participating in events to maximize career growth. Ask the right questions from professors they are highly intellectual professionals with a very high level of teaching experience, not commonly seen in other universities- this helps to understand the concepts through roots, enhance learning experience

What are your passions or interests outside of finance?

Outside of finance, my passion lies in singing and playing the synthesizer. I even have my own YouTube channel where I share my musical work.
