The typical career is about 80,000 hours long, or one-sixth of the average person’s waking life. But what forces shape people’s careers beyond individual abilities and efforts? In my research, I explore career inequalities, especially gender dynamics, particularly in the context of modern work structures.
My methodological approach involves utilizing Python to manage people data obtained from companies and construct extensive panel datasets. With these at hand, I build algorithms to create novel explanatory variables primarily rooted in relational, network and social capital theories. To build inferential models, I employ econometric methods, using STATA as my preferred tool.
I hope that my research findings can not only guide individuals in navigating their career paths but also provide valuable insights for companies in effectively cultivating, rewarding, and retaining their diverse talent pool - in a responsible and equitable manner. LinkedIn Profile.
