Drawn by the school’s hands-on methodology, Jennifer has deepened her skills in decision-making and stakeholder management, while learning from a diverse, collaborative community.
Passionate about driving impact, she aims to work in a strategic role—ideally focused on sustainability and meaningful change.
“The most rewarding aspect for me has been the people—being in a community of motivated, curious and collaborative classmates who all bring so many different perspectives to the table.”
Why did you decide to pursue the Master in Management & Strategy?
It all ties back to my long-term career plan. I chose to study finance for my bachelor’s, not to become an investor but to understand how companies manage capital. After gaining experience in corporate operations and finance, I knew I needed a broader, more strategic skill set to truly make an impact and learn how to lead organizational transformation from a big-picture perspective. That’s what led me to pursue the Master in Management & Strategy.
IE Business School stood out because it was the only business school offering a program that truly aligned with my goals. On top of that, the school’s innovative, hands-on approach makes me feel like I’m actively working in the field, not just studying. It’s been the ideal environment to grow both professionally and personally.
You came into the Master in Management & Strategy with past professional experience in management. How has the program complemented this experience and helped you build new skills?
The program has helped me sharpen and reframe my experience through a more strategic lens. I have deepened my understanding of data-driven decision-making, organizational design and the art of managing stakeholders. Beyond technical skills, collaborating with peers from different industries and cultures has given me a new way to view things and adapt faster.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of the Master in Management & Strategy so far?
The most rewarding aspect for me has been the people—being in a community of motivated, curious and collaborative classmates who all bring so many different perspectives to the table. Each group project or class discussion is a chance to grow. This daily exchange of ideas is just so inspiring and eye-opening.
How do you balance your studies and personal life?
It’s undeniable that the workload, from classes to group projects, is intense. But it really comes down to being intentional with your time and knowing when to switch gears. At the beginning, I did struggle, but then I learned how to give each part of my life the attention it needed. I plan my week to stay on top of deadlines, and I make sure to carve out time to hang out with friends and stay active through sports. These moments help me recharge and maintain balance so I can stay focused and show up fully for my academic growth.
Where do you see your path heading once you complete the program?
At the start of the program, I thought I wanted to go into consulting. But throughout my journey at IE Business School, I have realized I want to go beyond that, stepping into a more strategic role at a company or multilateral organization where I can drive meaningful change. I am especially interested in working on a sustainability-focused project that creates real impact for both business and society.
What advice would you give to students who are about to begin the program?
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. We’re all here to learn from others and improve ourselves. The professors are here to support our journeys toward being the Next Best You. These 15 months fly by, so take advantage of every opportunity. Try things. Make decisions. Learn from what works—and what doesn’t. There’s no better time or place to experiment and grow.
