Romina Míguez describes herself as a strategic thinker with a deep sense of empathy. These qualities are reflected in her role as a fundraiser at UNICEF Uruguay, where she leads supporter engagement strategy. What are some of your takeaways from the Global Online MBA?
I came to IE Business School ready to prove myself and to improve myself. Looking back, I feel I have achieved both. I also connected with a network of colleagues and professors from whom I have learned a lot and who I continue to admire. My experience with them has given me a global perspective that has reshaped the limits of my professional career and allowed me to dream of being a driver of positive change in a world that needs it.
What role do you think discomfort and turbulence, as experienced during the Global Online MBA program, play in driving innovation and progress in the workplace?
Discomfort and turbulence are part of our everyday professional lives, no matter what we do for a living, and the Global Online MBA was the perfect laboratory to test myself in such a scenario. From studying in another language and taking advanced classes in subjects I was encountering for the first time to building bullet-proof arguments to convince a top-level group of classmates and professors, the Global Online MBA environment pushed me to constantly improve. This allowed me the space to be innovative and even to find creative solutions to juggle family, work, chores and studying.
How did the Global Online MBA program's blend of online and face-to-face learning environments enhance your ability to adapt and thrive in a diverse, global business landscape?

We need to be disruptive and work in teams to succeed in any professional field today. Collaborative environments help us prosper, which is why the experience I gained at IE Business School was of great value both personally and professionally.
What is the most significant change or improvement in your professional approach that can be attributed to the Global Online MBA?
A year after my graduation from the Global Online MBA, I can say I have expanded my paradigm of thinking. I’ve also acquired a more mature outlook on my professional path, which is reflected in my attitude towards challenges I once believed were out of reach.
