Bengü Nur Özdemir
Bengü is a Ph.D. candidate in the Operations Management department. Her research interests lie in the intersection of operations management and human behavior. Her research goal is to contribute to theory and practice in the people-centric operations field by creating a better understanding of how individuals, teams, and organizations can perform at their best. In doing so, she utilizes archival data and econometrics. Specifically, she is interested in the unintended operational consequences of discretionary behavior. Prior to starting her Ph.D. at IE in 2019, Bengü has worked as a research and teaching assistant at TOBB University of Economics and Technology (Turkey) and Boğaziçi University (Turkey).
"All models are wrong, but some are useful. The distinctive research culture of the Ph.D. program at IE has equipped me with the necessary skills to create useful models."
