Pullmantur and the IE Foundation promote education among young directors with talent

Leading Spanish cruise company Pullmantur has signed an agreement with the IE (IE Business School) Foundation to donate to the Excellence Scholarships Corporate Fund.

The program provides support for young professionals with talent, enabling them to access a world-class education in a top-tier school with the help of a leading Spanish tourism firm.

The signing was attended by José Luis Fernández Day, Director of IT at Pullmantur, and Rafael Puyol, Vice President of the IE Foundation. Pullmantur’s donation will fund two scholarships, thereby enabling two students to study a postgraduate MBA program that includes a specialization in IT & Digital Business during the 2012-2013 academic year.

José Luis Fernández Day, Director of IT at Pullmantur, said that “the agreement evidences the value Pullmantur attaches to innovation and new technologies as basic catalysts for growth and change in all spheres.” He also pointed out the importance of education in shaping values, such as corporate responsibility, as promoted by institutions like the IE Foundation or IE itself. These observations were made not only from his perspective as a director, but also based on personal experience, having undertaken an International MBA (1994 intake) at IE Business School.

Both Fernández Day and Puyol underscored the importance of joining forces to help identify and develop projects that foster the creation of joint projects between the tourism industry and educational establishments.
