The Mayor of Madrid and Dean of IE present a multimedia case study on the city of Madrid
This morning the Mayor of Madrid, Alberto Ruiz Gallardón , and IE Dean, Santiago Íñiguez de Onzoño, presented a multimedia case study on the city of Madrid (La ciudad de Madrid: Un Modelo de Gestión Pública, Orientado al Futuro - The city of Madrid: A public administration management model geared to the future).
The case describes Madrid's evolution culminating in its current position among the most dynamic and competitive capitals in the world, analyzing key factors in the city's transformation. The Madrid case study
includes interactive graphs, before and now images, emblematic symbols of the city and videos featuring interviews with major players in the city, including the Mayor of Madrid and delegates from the governing body of Madrid city hall.
The main aspects covered in the case include: a comparison of Madrid with other leading cities worldwide to gauge the city's international position; the city's public administration model; key developments in terms of infrastructure; and Madrid's role as a global hub for logistics, business, innovation, learning, tourism and culture. The case, which is rounded off with a description of the main challenges now facing the city, was developed for use in IE master programs as an additional learning tool for discussion and exchange of ideas among IE students.
IE Business School has also produced a multimedia case study of Spain, authored by Professor Gonzalo Garland. Case Spain provides a snapshot of the most important aspects of Spanish politics and the country's economy since 1973 to the present day, examining macroeconomic data and key decisions made by the different successive governments. Other IE multimedia studies of countries include a case study on the US economy by Professor Gayle Allard, which analyzes the economic development of the United States until 2005, its achievements and failures, along with the most relevant events in the country's history and the impact that fluctuations in its economy have had on the rest of the world.
