The Global Security Landscape: Views from the Munich Security Conference

The two leaders of the Munich Security Conference and renowned security experts visited IE School Of Politics, Economics & Global Affairs to discuss the global security landscape and the view from the 2023 Munich Security Conference.

Christoph Heusgen is a distinguished ambassador and chairman of the Munich Security Conference. He is also the former Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations. The ambassador was the Foreign Policy and Security Adviser to Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel. Benedikt Franke is Vice-Chairman and CEO of the Munich Security Conference (MSC). Before joining the MSC, he served as Senior Advisor for Strategic Affairs at the CSU and before that he was the Special Assistant for former Secretary-General of the United Nations and Nobel Laureate Kofi Annan.

This event was attended by select students and faculty from across IE School Of Politics, Economics & Global Affairs. It offered an opportunity to understand the security and geopolitical concerns of influential thinkers and insights into the role that international for a play in harboring challenging but constructive multilateral and bilateral dialogue.
