QS has ranked IE Business School’s Global MBA as the best online MBA in the world in its 2017 ranking of Online MBAs.

The international ranking, published annually by UK-based organization QS, ranks the 40 best online MBA programs in the world. This year’s QS ranking results further consolidate IE Business School as an international benchmark for excellence in the field of management education after the School achieved the No. 1 position worldwide in the Financial Times ranking of Online MBAs (March 2017) and the No. 1 position in Europe in FT’s Ranking of MBAs for Entrepreneurs (June 2016).

IE Business School’s  Global MBA is a part-time, English-taught program which runs for 15 months. Since it was first launched directors from more than sixty countries have done the program, which has a student body comprised of 95% international students. IE’s Global MBA combines online modules with face-to-face modules held in Madrid, San Francisco, Miami, Israel, and Shanghai, along with video conferences and discussion forums run in a globalized and digital environment. The criteria used to evaluate the quality of programs for this year’s edition of the QS ranking includes the opinions of international recruiters about graduate employability, institutional reputation, academic experience, level of diversity, and faculty profile.

“IE’s Global MBA program provides students from around the world with a unique experience in a face-to-face and online environment that is innovative and has a global focus. The results of this ranking reflect the level of excellence at IE in terms of technology and teaching, as well as the caliber of its international student body with a markedly entrepreneurial mindset,” said Ignacio Gafo, Vice Dean of Global and Executive MBA programs at IE Business School.

In addition to its Global MBA, IE Business School’s portfolio of part-time programs includes the Executive MBA and the IE SMU MBA, a ten-month program with a special focus on business realities in the Asia-Pacific region, run jointly with Singapore Management University. IE Business School also runs the IE Brown Executive MBA program jointly with Ivy-League member Brown University, to provide a program that combines IE’s experience and prestige in the field of management education, with Brown’s reputation for excellence in humanities and social sciences. Moreover, IE runs a Global Executive MBA, a program for senior managers which combines presential periods in Madrid, Singapore, Los Angeles and Sao Paulo, with online modules.

In the field of technology IE has developed key projects like the WOW Room, the classroom of the future, which has secured IE’s position as a pioneering institution in Europe for the development of technology applied to education. IE created IE Learning Net, IE’s e-learning unit, back in 2002. Since then over 3,000 undergraduate and graduate undertake online courses each year at IE that form part of both onsite and blended programs.  IE was also the first Spanish business school to run MOOCs on Coursera, the leading international platform for open online learning. Over 200,000 people from some 150 countries have taken part in an IE MOOC since the first one was launched.
