Michael Lee Stallard, Co-founder and President of the Connection Culture Group & E Pluribus Partners joined the IE Business School’s Linkedin Live and spoke about the power of human connection as a driver for performance in individuals, teams, and organizations.

Lee Newman, Dean of IE Business School and professor of Leadership and Behavioral Science at IE, sat down in a face-to-face conversation with Stallard about the importance of human connection in the workplace.

“What I found through this research is that connection makes us smarter and makes us happier.”

“It makes us more productive, but it also makes us more resilient to cope with stress and that’s a huge issue in so many different parts of life these days in work and education,” said Stallard.

Organizations with greater human connection benefit from a sizable performance and competitive advantage, he said.

“Those organizations that show a higher level of human connection, have a higher employee engagement and tighter strategic alignments, so everyone is moving in the same direction. They are better at the quality of decisions they make, higher rates of innovation, greater agility and adaptability,” stated Stallard.

The session was followed by an audience Q&A, where attendees asked questions about digital culture successes and creating positive connections.
