A TYPICAL WEEK
Our students typically have classes from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. However, there are additional workshops or lectures that might be in different timetables.
During the afternoon, Tech MBA students gather to work on their group assignments as well as to prepare for their individual tasks. Besides, to complement the rigorous academic curriculum, IE offers Tech MBA students countless networking opportunities, social events and sports competitions and student clubs to enrich their IE Experience from different angles.
THE WAY YOU LIVE
CATCH THE SPIRIT OF CAMPUS LIFE
Our campus is more than a place – it’s a whole way of life. Our Tech MBA students are immersed in a unique ecosystem in the heart of Madrid’s business district that is an international, cosmopolitan hub of creativity. The Campus Life office coordinates and supports a huge range of activities all imbued with the IE spirit, offering a great opportunity to network outside of class at events that showcase IE’s diversity to the maximum.
Want access to state-of-the-art technology, or a space where your entrepreneurial creativity can thrive? Our campus is a hub of new technology.
Want the challenge of taking part in a TEDx talk on campus or singing in a Talent Show? Or want to try something adventurous and new, like scuba diving in Alicante?
With more than 60 IE Student Clubs, no matter what your thing is, there’s sure to be something to excite you.
BUILD YOUR CONNECTIONS FOR THE FUTURE
Want to meet new people and broaden your network? With more than 6,000 students from 140 countries studying at the university, you could meet someone from a new country every weekend. There are plenty of networking opportunities outside study time too – some recent examples include:
• Social Responsibility Forum: A 2-day event to explore how to take action, make an impact and lead change through a series of panels, case studies and interactive sessions with a broad range of issues involving social responsibility.
• Global Village: One of IE’s iconic festivals that celebrates all the different cultures on campus across all the programs.
• Other networking opportunities such as the Venture Network, the IE Asia Pacific Forum, the IE Chinese New Year Celebration and the Annual IE Alumni Forum.

MORE REASONS TO STUDY AT IE BUSINESS SCHOOL
MADRID IS STUDENT FRIENDLY
Madrid’s residents and local government appreciate the value students bring to the city and you are sure to be given a warm welcome. Whether you are on our central campus, visiting any of the world-class museums or out enjoying a beer and tapas on a sunny terrace, you will always feel at home in Madrid.
MADRID IS WELL-CONNECTED
The 0-mile marker located at Madrid's Puerta del Sol square is the starting point for all major highways in Spain, and Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport connects Madrid to other European capital cities with direct flights and plenty of low-cost airlines. The high-speed train network will get you into Barcelona in less than 3 hours, and also connects to coastal cities, such as Alicante, Málaga or Valencia.
MADRID IS CULTURE
One of the oldest cities in Europe, there is so much to explore. Whether it’s ancient history, modern art, classical music or flamenco dance, you will find a range of activities to suit your interests and your budget. Film buffs shouldn’t miss the Cine Doré, a beautiful cinema that is home to Spain’s film institute, tasked with preserving the country’s films, which screens films from around the world, many in English, with tickets a bargain at €2.50.
MADRID IS STREET ART
Madrid has a strong presence in the European graffiti movement and is home to festivals and events such as Urbanity, Pinta Malasaña and Muros Tabacalera designed to promote street art in the city. You can even take a guided walk led by one of the artists responsible for the murals.
MADRID IS CLOSE TO NATURE
Hiking, skiing, mountain biking… these activities are all possible within 45 minutes of the city center. La Pedriza, Cotos or the Guadarrama mountains offer the best hiking territory, and there are even small refuges in case you decide to head off for longer.
MADRID IS GREAT FOOD
Paella and tapas are international words, and Spain has a strong gastronomic tradition with eating out an affordable option for all. But don't forget to go local and sample 'cocido madrileño', a stew made with pork, chicken and beef, served with chickpeas.
MADRID IS FRIENDLY AND DIVERSE
Madrid is a very multicultural city and prides itself on its openness to all people, with no discrimination due to gender, sexual orientation, religion or race. Lavapiés and Malasaña are probably the most multicultural neighborhoods to head for if you want to experience the global culture of the city.
MADRID IS NIGHTLIFE
Chilled-out roof top terraces with a view, cavernous underground bars, cool clubs, festivals, flamenco tablaos, music, parties… Madrid has it all, in spades.
MADRID IS AS VARIED AS ITS BARRIOS
And they are all so different and unique. From rebellious Malasaña, packed with vintage shops and a mixture of traditional old bars and newer, cool cafés and restaurants and fun-loving Chueca, with its trendy minimalist boutiques, old taverns and great gay bars and clubs, to Madrid Centro, with its hidden squares, cobbled streets and golden plaques outside businesses that are over 100 years old, and Barrio de Las Letras, Madrid’s literary quarter with more cobbled streets, stylish shops and its traditional bars and cafes where writers such as Miguel de Cervantes lived or Ernest Hemmingway drank.
MADRID IS THE SPANISH LANGUAGE
Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Spanish language – native language to 500 million people worldwide and the world’s second business language. Apart from official courses, you can meet up with an ‘intercambio’ group or practice with friendly locals.
MADRID IS SPORT
The Spanish are great lovers of sport, and the capital is no exception. The city has two local teams in the Champions League – Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid – but there are all sorts of other sports you can enjoy when studying abroad in Madrid, from hockey and netball to handball and all manner of athletics.
MADRID IS A GREAT CLIMATE
Last but definitely not least, you can enjoy the great outdoors all year round. How does a drink on one of the city’s many terraces in a laid-back plaza on a sunny afternoon in winter sound? Or a late-night stroll through the livelier barrios in summer?
And is both the perfect stage for honing your tech career and the perfect backdrop to an unforgettable year.
