The Master in Creative Direction, Content & Branding takes you on a structured learning journey, providing the tools and insights for business, branding and management. 

The program begins with a Common Core Period that you’ll study alongside students from every other Marketing, Communication & Sales program. 

This structure gives you the opportunity to meet and network with like-minded professionals from other master’s programs, as well as the flexibility to pivot your career path if you see fit. 

You will learn about Digital Media and Technology; Visual Media and Creativity; and Business, Branding and Management.

PILLARS OF THE MASTER IN CREATIVE DIRECTION, CONTENT & BRANDING

The Master in Creative Direction, Content & Branding takes you on a structured learning journey, providing the tools and insights for business, branding and management. The program begins with a series of core subjects that you’ll study alongside students from every other Marketing, Communication & Sales program. This structure gives you the opportunity to meet and network with like-minded professionals from other master’s programs, as well as the flexibility to pivot your career path if you see fit.

Outside of the Common Core Period courses, you’ll take a deep dive into four focus areas:

    International Experiences

    Broaden your perspective on international business markets and Marketing, Communication & Sales career trends as part of several optional international experiences: our Global Immersion Week or our Social Impact Week. Previous editions have taken our students to London and Ghana, as well as other destinations such as Amsterdam and South Africa.

    International experiences such as the Global Immersion Week and Social Impact Week are optional opportunities with limited capacity. Selection criteria may include academic standing, such as a student’s GPA.

    Students are responsible for their own travel and housing costs.

      Global Immersion Week

      The MARCOM Global Immersion Week (GIW) allows students to network with companies, explore new cultures and gain new career insights. Our goal is to offer you a one-week international experience and show you firsthand the main career outcomes that you can find today within other relevant international business markets.  Previous years’ agendas have included in-company visits to Google, Ipsos, Amazon, Diageo and the Financial Times, among others.

      Social Impact Week

      Our goal is to nurture the next generation of purpose-driven business professionals who possess a deep sense of responsibility to the planet and society. Our Social Impact Week is a one-week trip in which you will visit local companies within the fields of marketing, communication & sales. There, you will develop a project for a client that is focused on social impact, entrepreneurship and the MARCOM sector. It is the perfect opportunity to network, gain global knowledge and have a positive impact on society.

    Once a month, students will have the chance to hear from top speakers from different companies in the marketing, communication and sales industry. In the past, speakers have represented such leading companies as Kantar, McKinsey & Company, Interbrand and Fjord, to name a few.

    FLEXIBILITY IN YOUR CAREER PATH

    Choosing the right program for you can be difficult. We’re here to guide you in your Marketing, Communication & Sales career journey from the start. All our full-time programs begin with a two-month Common Core Period, designed to give you the key foundations to succeed in this career path.

    However, if after starting the program and completing this Common Core Period you are interested in changing to another Marketing, Communication & Sales program, you may switch programs after having a meeting with the Academic Program Direction team to validate this change and understand how it may affect your future career. Please be aware that program changes are dependent on availability.

    • The program combines a Common Core Period with specialized modules. Core subjects provide a foundation in marketing and management, shared with students from other programs. You’ll then dive into courses such as Photography and Video Production, Brand Strategy, and Digital Copywriting. This balance ensures you develop both creative and strategic capabilities.

    • Yes. The program emphasizes hands-on learning through client-focused projects, creative studio work and a final project. These experiences allow you to test ideas, design branding campaigns and deliver tangible solutions for real businesses. By working directly with clients and industry professionals, you’ll graduate with a portfolio that demonstrates both creativity and practical impact.

    • Absolutely. Storytelling and brand strategy are at the core of the curriculum. You’ll learn how to create narratives that connect with audiences, build consistent brand identities and integrate creative vision with business goals. These skills are applied through practical projects, ensuring you leave with both the conceptual knowledge and hands-on experience needed to lead in creative industries.

    • The Master in Creative Direction, Content & Branding is a full-time, in-person program based in Madrid. This immersive format fosters close collaboration with peers, faculty and industry professionals. While some resources and optional certifications are available online, the program’s core strength lies in its interactive classes, client projects and face-to-face networking opportunities.

    • You’ll have ongoing support and advice from our IE Talent & Careers team, who can help you in your job search both during the program and after graduation. You'll have lifelong access to our job bank and to careers advice and networking events. In addition, you’ll gain valuable industry certifications, including our tailor-made Sustainability Certificate and the AI for Business certificate. We also offer certifications through our partnerships with Salesforce and Google Analytics. There's also an additional three-month Career Sector Track available on completion of the program, where you have the choice to focus on either Marketing for Consumer Goods, Luxury and Fashion or Sales & Ecommerce.
