Welcome from the President of IE University, Santiago Íñiguez de Onzoño

As President of IE University, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our institution.  I would also like to take this opportunity to share the distinguishing features of our university, our mission, and the values that make IE University a unique center of excellence.

IE University’s spirit can be summarized in its motto, Unus Mundus, Mentes Diversae, simply translated, One world with a diversity of minds.

This motto encompasses all that defines IE University, an international, humanistic university, with an entrepreneurial spirit, and an integrated and flexible approach to contemporary education.   

Our entire community of students, faculty and staff are united in their commitment to the Unus Mundus, and in facing the many challenges we share in the 21st century.

The IE University community is also humanistic. In other words, we avidly explore the Mentes Diversae with scholarly and personal curiosity, and integrate the diverse cultures, academic perspectives, life styles and values that enrich our campuses and turn learning into an intellectual adventure.

Students, professors, researchers and professionals continually seek to contribute to the Unus Mundus with their skills and knowledge. To that end, we cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit among our students which inspires them to carry out valuable initiatives that will improve and transform the world we share.

The integration of nationalities, cultures and abilities adds to strengthen the projects we undertake, while our educational model of integration furthers contemporary teaching, research and student learning. This model means students can move flexibly through traditional disciplinary barriers in order to build richer and more complex academic and professional profiles that society needs from graduates today.

Through this international, humanistic, entrepreneurial, integrated and flexible model, IE University endeavors to nurture open-minded graduates who are deeply knowledgeable of the world we share, and possess equally the passion, skills and range of resources to make effective and positive contributions to our society.
